TREE CARE (Cut trees)
Research has shown that by watering your Christmas tree and following a few simple tips you can keep your tree looking fresh right through the festive season. Treat your tree like a bunch of flowers. Your tree will drink up to 2 litres of water a day!! It is essential that your Christmas tree stand holds at least 2 litres of water. If you are not putting your Christmas tree up straight away leave it outside in a sheltered position. Before taking your Christmas tree indoors cut 2cm off the base of the trunk, this will allow the tree to take up water by capillary action. Never allow the water level in your stand to drop below the cut line as the tree will seal up again and water will be unable to circulate around the tree deteriorating more quickly. Top up your stand daily especially in the first few days. Position your tree away from direct sources of heat such as radiators, this will help keep it fresh.

* We will cut 2cm from the base of your tree free of charge at time of purchase, but you must place the tree in water within 2 hours or it will seal up again. If you are having your tree delivered our delivery drivers will cut 2cm from the base of the tree and place in your stand (you will need to be in) see delivery page. ** You would need to cut another 2cm from the base of your tree but the tree will be decorated by now!!
TREE CARE (Pot grown)
Place your tree away from direct sources of heat such as radiators. Water regularly, keeping the compost moist but remember you will need a saucer or tray. After Christmas place the tree outside, it can be planted in the ground or into a larger container but it is best to do so before the end of February while the tree is still dormant. Your tree will begin to grow during the spring, feed with plant fertiliser to help growth and colour.
